A recently leaked photo below which was first appeared on Weibo, shows off the new Redmi Note 5’s fresh 18:9 display along with a whole bunch of key specs.
So from a design perspective, the biggest step-up that we can see from the Redmi Note 4 is the near bezel-less display. Well, yes it’s definitely not a huge surprise to see Chinese OEM following suit for its mid-tier devices, after bringing the bezel-less form factor to the fore with the Mi Mix series; as a latest TENAA listing suggests we are looking at a 5.99-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.
Moreover, even this time also the company is sticking with the same processor found in Redmi Note 4 and Mi A1 named as Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625. While it seems strange, that the company wouldn’t opt for the more latest Snapdragon 630, the existing chipset alongside what looks to a super huge 4,000 mAh battery.
Well we must say that it should be a winning combo when it comes to power efficiency and cost to the end-user. The image also confirms that the device will have a 12MP rear camera sensor along with 64GB storage and Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 skin running over Android OS – Nougat (7.1.2 version).
According to recent reports, it shouldn’t be long until the company officially announces its latest budget device rather phablet and yes it will surely be interesting to see what price point Xiaomi settles on as just like the astonishing success of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, the company will surely want to maintain the sales momentum of its top-selling device family.
