How to report fake facebook account to FIA Cyber Crime Branch
Published On:In order to deal with tech-based issues, National Response Center for Cyber Crime (NR3C), is a newly introduced mandate of the FIA. It’s really important for us to become responsible citizens and give details to the FIA Cyber Crime Wing for fake profiles, online terrorism or any objectionable content. According to NR3C:
“Any activity commissioned via computer, digital devices and networks used in the cyber realm, and is facilitated through the internet medium. It can include the distant theft of information belonging to an individual, government or corporate sector through criminal tress-passing into unauthorized remote systems around the world. It includes from stealing millions of rupees from online bank to harassing and stalking cyber users.”
Let’s take a look of how we can report any issue.
There are three procedures available that can be followed in order to report any fake facebook account or objectionable content.
- Report to FIA Cyber Crime Center
- Report to Facebook
- Report to PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority)
Report to FIA Cyber Crime:
In order to report an issue to FIA an online Cyber complaint service of FIA’s National Responce Center for Cyber Crime can be availed, you need to follow the below mentioned steps in order to launch a complain:
- Go to nr3c.gov.pk/creport.php
- Fill out the form and Submit
You can also mention complete details regarding the cyber crime that you are reporting through email. For assistance, email [email protected] or call 051-9106384 or mobile 03366006060.
This way, your complaint will be submitted to FIA Cyber Crime Department.
Report to Facebook:
In order to report a fake profile or objectionable content to facebook, just open the profile / facebook account that you want to launch a complaint for and click on the button at the top right corner of the page. Then choose “Report” option from the menu. Afterwards you will be prompted by Facebook to choose from a number of reasons or causes that why you exactly want to block or even report that specific person.
Steps to follow:
- Open Profile
- Click on the top right button
- Select “Report”
- Give the reason
Report Content to PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority):
For any objectionable content on social media fake calls or messages, you can email the complete details of cybercrime to PTA here [email protected]
